Highlights

The Department of Civil Engineering apart from its NBA Accredited academic programs, also works as a consulting agency; the services of which can be availed by government and non government institutions. The consultancy services rendered by the department are charged at nominal government rates. Seminars on recent technologies and projects led by specialists, Industry visits, Technical fests, MoU’S with renowned Industries, MOOC Courses of foreign Universities, Expert Talks from eminent personalities from industries and Research centers, association with Professional Bodies like Institution of Engineers(India).

Industrial Consultation Centre (Icc):

This aims for development of technical knowledge for civil engineering students by involving them in various activities such as preparation of mix design, conducting of destructive and non-destructive test on materials and research oriented projects.
Now ICC is run under the Centre for Research, Innovation & Consultancy (C-RIC). C-RIC assures Consultancy Services, with the most advanced technology & methodologies. We have established our marks in consultancy and assessment fields as high quality service oriented and reliable group.
The major Projects that we completed under C-RIC is the DPR preparation of 7 roads around 25 km for rebuilding the damaged roads due to the mega floods under the Rebuild Kerala Initiative-Local Self-Government department.
Another major project completed is the “Scrutiny of structural design of New Municipal office building proposed to be constructed in Koothattukulam Municipality under KIIFB”, which is having an estimated project cost of INR 7,77,60,000 with floor area of 1477.62 SQM.

1. Environmental club

Of the department aims to motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.Educate students to create awareness amongst public regarding the Environmental impacts caused by human deeds, so as to stop the indiscriminate impact of environmental issues.

2. Jalanidi Club :

The department decided to implement a comprehensive water security action plan- Jalanidi to protect the water resources. The scheme aims to protect existing water resources and promote programmes to check pollution, awareness for conservation of forests and soil, uses of rainwater harvesting system.

3. Social welfare club :

Iinitiates and implements welfare programs and services for society in need. Currently our aim is to build houses for the weaker community who is not having a place of residence in the vicinity of our college area and also it aims the overall care, protection, welfare and development of society.
Department of civil engineering is glad to sent our students for industrial exposure to Government & private organizations time to time like DMRC, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Southern Railway, Kerala PWD, Bharat Petroleum Cooperation Limited.
